Who Let The Love Out?

A response to wife's letter.

Dearest wife of mine, it’s you that I thank

You’ve tripled investments in our sex bank

At first sight, “Te amo mi amor!” wasn’t a prank

Shopaholic you're not, our debt remains blank

Your courage and devotion is built like a tank

Stress make you crank, shouting often stank

Our issues walked hastily the marriage's plank

A best friend to the end, you’re my #1 rank

Black Love

Special dedication for the month of February. Ever since that I could remember, you kept uniting nations, hope and dreams through Valentine day and celebrating courage, pride and inventions through the Black History Month. And those two events found in your calender year will forever remain special in our hearts.

Dearest husband of mine, it is you I thank

For the respect and memories in my soul bank

You are much more handsome than Cool Hank

At first date, I though you were a Cupid’s prank

Your passion for this family is built like a tank

To always speak frank, your humor may stank

My World Heavyweigh love for you is #1 rank

ONE

Out of a million billion

Let there be one

Mind, body, soul equals fun

With life’s wisdom and pun

Smile brighter then the sun

Fear, anger, misery is none

Ms. anxiety-free virgin nun

Self-respect is more powerful

then a jealous loaded gun

From insecurity been on the run

Patience of Job I’ve now won

‘Till my last breath is done

Before my pine kingdom come

Let my eyes bestow

On that special ONE

-- Louis Mercier

Black In

Please! Have you, you or you seen her?
I beg, anyone seen my cellphone charger?
My God, where can she be I wonder
Black electric smile, light like a feather

First, look in my work bag, I thought
This one is special, can't be bought
Look again under the bed, ready or not
Where? Where can she be? I worry allot

6 hours, 5 min. 4 sec. and counting
My heart skips a beat, seen frowning
1/2 a bar on the BB cellphone left dieing
1/2 of me gave up crying to keep searching

If anyone seen her standing on a corner
Tell her to come home to make it better
Stay away from Ebay and pawnshop teller
The end, nothing more to say but: "Later!"

The sun will surely rise again tomorrow
Sending you a gift wrapped with a bow
Fond kisses filled with bittersweet sorrow
Kind memories of you will surely grow

PS: Can't believe I lost my cell phone charger;)

Free - Part 1

The compound interest was too hard to swallow

Anxiety penetrated the very core of the bone

X marked the shameful red spot on his back

Multiple mail left unopened and neatly stacked

Avoiding seeing his garnished work wages

Never give up on yourself! You must turn this page

PS: Mr. Snipes, looking forward seeing you smile again on the red carpet of freedom on July 19, 2013. If not sooner!

Until then, keep your mind free, your head up and don't drop any soap ;)

Dog Life - part 1

Now I lay me down to sleep,
too tired to stand and hustle on my own two feet
I pray the Lord for my soul to keep dreaming;
if I die before I wake, someone must be joking
I pray the Lord to check his glasses,
there's been a humongous mistake ;)

PS: Night, night world!

Jesus Not Lexus

In the name of the all mighty father, and the son

Was he the Holy ghost, a con or just a simple clown

I frown, does anybody remember the name Jesus?

Willis, what are you talking about? Jesus, not Lexus

The man who spoke of heaven in the sky, before he die

No lie, the hated king who wore thorns for his crown

“Forgive them father”, whispering head to the grown

They lacerated “Nigger” on his back without a sound

A lover, walked on man’s river of sins, never drown

Lipstick on his gown, kissed by Judas for a fist of gold

The bible’s greatest story ever told, pain in his tear

2010, his name on every drunk’s lips holding a beer

In the name of peace, justice and equality for all

Soft spoken, Jesus had barely reached six feet tall

The son of God had no gold, looking like a filthy bum

Nailed to the cross like he owned a few atomic bombs

We all shouted in anger: “Terrorist” from here to Venus

Young to the old pointed: “Save Barabbas - kill Jesus”

Like a pregnant teen killing her newly formed fetus

“Tell me why do you fear and hate him with passion?”

Like an Ex’s blue denim jeans that went out of fashion”

Asked Pontius Pilate, puzzled over the crowded mob’s fury

“He claimed to be your friend, born from a virgin Mary

While Joseph, his father, met three kings in the sand”

Jesus Christ, it’s the 21th century, is anyone still a fan?

In the name of the all mighty father, Ching, Ching, Ching!

It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas’s eve in 2010

Sudoku book sat on my lap, while holding a black ink pen

“Stuck on the highway”, repeated a parrot named Big Ben

Global warming in the family car, on my skin a perfect tan

I must have been a hero to swear again, with my right hand

Mind control on every channel zero, played on the busted radio

“Half prize super deals” like a song heard all across the land

From women and men, acting like little girls in GAP khaki pants,

Flying up and down the city malls like Tinker Bell in Peter Pan

Outside, brainless zombies lining up from here to Tokyo, Japan

Not a teardrop fell in Mr. Booth donation salvation army can

What are you talking about? The son of David is Red Ferrari

Silly! I know Cadillac, with a price that would give a heart attack

Is it on sale? Will it drive far? What kind a car is Immanuel?

What the Hell? Need glasses? can't you tell? It's a gift for “Me”

“I" will freely spend on electronics, clothes and gold jewelry

Maxing up a Visa and American express credit card, happily”

Soon, a fool will part with his retirement money, 50" HD TV

The greatest life's prediction ever told, they will fold to bankruptcy

Less then six months in misery, hands in prayer, they will all be

In their tears, like Jesus on the cross, they will cry: God, why “Me”?

Keep On Moving

"if you never quit, you will never fail"

In Richard St. John's book "8 To Be Great", he talks about the 8 key characteristics of successful people, based upon his 10 years of research and 500 personal interviews.

For 2011, with great pleasure, I wish for you all to develop these characteristics found bellow, while advancing on your journey for the pursuit of happiness.

1. Passion - Successful people find what they love to do, though this may take a long time for many.

2. Work - Successful people work very hard; however, because they love their work, it’s fun.

3. Focus - Successful people focus long-term efforts on just one thing.

4. Push - Successful people overcome barriers like shyness and self-doubt and push themselves beyond normal expectations.

5. Ideas - Developing ideas to solve problems and take advantage of opportunities is a hallmark of the successful person.

6. Improve - Successful people aim to do their best by constant practice and learning from mistakes.

7. Serve - Offer others something of value, think about others, work on their behalf.

8. Persist - Success does not come instantly but comes over time and by working through failure, mistakes, criticism, rejection, and adversity.

“Generate IDEAS that SERVE others something of value and that you have PASSION for. PUSH yourself and WORK hard on your idea. PERSIST through failure, criticism, rejection, and pressure. With enough practice, you will become GOOD. Really FOCUS on this plan and you will have success!” - Wayne Gretzky

PS: If you can't be good, be GREAT;)

There's A Hero

"In life, 2A, anything is possible when you believe in yourself."
-- Louis Mercier

"You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July

'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, Oh
As you shoot across the sky

Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go, Oh
You're gonna leave 'em falling down"

--Katy Perry

"And then a hero comes along, with the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside, and you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone, look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth, that a hero lies in you"

--Mariah Carey

My breath

My friend, my rock, my breath, my life
Unlike no others, you stood by my side
Silence my inner greatest fears and tears
It's you who shield me with unfading love
Close doors to negativity, opened my soul to possibility

Music. My oomph, my zeal, my motivation, mon elan.
Very few artists have captured the true essence of how I truly feel about you
To you, my dearest friend, I dedicate "You bring me joy" by Anita Baker

Enjoy ;)

"You bring me joy when I'm down, so much joy
When I lose my way your love comes smiling on me
I saw your face and then I knew, we would be friends
I was so afraid, but your arms, they'd say: "Come to me."

So I'd say to you: "Can we talk for a while?"
You'd say: "Alright"
When you love me, I smile
I feel your hands and you feel mine
You bring me joy

You bring me joy, don't go too far away
If I can't see your face, I will remember that smile

But can this be right, or should we be friends
I get lonely sometimes and I'm mixed up again
'Cause you're the finest thing I've seen in all my life
You bring me joy

My joy, my joy
I believe this is gonna be what you want it to be
I just love you, I just love you, can't you see
That you're the best I've seen in all my life
You bring me joy

My joy... you're my joy

Thank you, baby. I just love you, baby
When I lose my way, your love comes smiling on me"

Toronto City - Part 2

They say we build igloo residency
Or we use Monopoly money currency
Ride polar bear to work instead of a taxi
Our free health care the source of their jealousy
Need a miserable toque to play street hockey
They say "Yo!" we say "Eh!" in our vocabulary
Only in Canada, our pride, God isn't synonym for money ;)

Bottom In De Road

Note to self, rabbit foot to never sell
It ain't a little brag, it ain't hard to tell
Lucky to score promotions very well
Certify rules card, certify ticket sales
Certification earn over 5 months spell
Back in class with a laptop from Dell
What I really need is a gift in the mail
Call me Sleepless, call me crazy like Mel
I need a week vacation, can't you tell
Been working four weeks daily like hell
Eye lid fighting to hear the finish bell
Anything to flee the 9 to 7 working jail
I wish it was Monday, yesterday
I wish it was Tuesday, today
Wish it was another day, in holiday
Can't wait for Carnival to fly away
But, Tuesday is the night, shorty
Believe it or not, hold on tight baby
A black man is feeling to party party
In a dance, looking to boogie woogie
Woman, hold on to your man steadily
Ready or not, here comes Sr. Jimmy
Winning & jamming, flag waving
Steal pan rhythm is in my soul
For once, I'm ready to loose control ;)

On Your Mark, Get Set...

I surely miss Mr. Vandross. He would hold your breath in awh with his effortless angelic voice while singing: "The sun is shining, there's plenty of light. A new day is dawning, sunny and bright..."

As for me, this morning sunlight is sunny-delight filled with a strange aroma lingering through the air. Can you smell it too? I swear I could smell coffee brewing, as if I was back in my native land. Could it be that I am still sleeping with much work lining up ahead? Wake up world! Need to wake up, clean up, eat breakfast and bless another day of accomplishments from tasks listed on our ever ending "To do list".

Fist thing first, I can't be motivated and you are not. It's a brotherly/sisterly love thing. Great, you feel me! It's a "Together" thing! Then, we will both recite this inspiring poem to start our day:

"If you think you're beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost for sure you won't.

If you think you're losing, you've lost.
For out in the world we find -
Success begins with a person's will,
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go,
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!"

PS: Now, go get them Tiger, I am right behind you. Need five more minutes of sleep ;)
